Let’s Talk About Land, Water and Air

Loading ...Greetings and welcome to VaEnvironmentalLaw.com, which is intended to promote discussions about issues in environmental law. We hope the blog will be of interest to a wide variety or readers.
We hope that our initial commentaries will be the foundation for others to add their own ideas, opinions, and insights on the Commonwealth’s environment and land resources. We want it to be a place where you can regularly turn for information about legal developments in environmental law and make your viewpoints known.
Over the years, I, as well as other attorneys on Sands Anderson’s environmental team (Lee Byrd, Jim Cornwell, Jeff Geiger, Terrence Graves and Phyllis Katz) have represented clients on wide ranging issues in environmental law. We are frequently asked interpret and advise on the statutory and regulatory framework within which Virginia’s environmental laws are enacted, administered, and enforced. We help our clients develop strategies to meet their business needs within this regulatory framework.
We help local governments construct ordinances that will shape development to conform to the environmental needs and interests of the community. We have also been successful in representing clients in enforcement proceedings and in litigation on issues related to the environment.
The Environmental and Regulatory Law Team at Sands Anderson seeks to share what we have learned about environmental law and land use planning with groups and individuals who are also interested in these issues. With that thought in mind, we welcome your ideas on topics that you would like to see discussed here. We look forward to hearing from you.
